ABOUT US
Black Fans United is a social action group that was born out of a need to support black and socially marginalized ethnic groups who normally have negative experiences during sporting events associated with racism and hate crimes like homophobia and xenophobia.

BFU aims to promote social justice and social equality and acknowledge that all sporting fans of whatever origin or background, to be safe and have equal rights, duties, privileges, dignity and, opportunities.

There will be a particular focus on raising awareness on sporting events around diversity and black culture.
The BFU aims to play an important role in helping to find proactive solutions to a wide range of personal, social, emotional and economic issues, which will particularly impact adversely black people and people of ethnic minority origins.
The BFU will be made of sporting fans, social commentators, and community champions, who want to make a difference through proactive social action. The BFU will achieve this by:
1. Providing a meeting place and forum for discussions for responsible people who have a passion to be involved in social action in their community in sports. It’s an opportunity to make connections with sporting fans of similar passions and aspirations so as to make a difference.
2. Sponsoring research, lectures, conferences, community programs, and activities to raise awareness and to address common problems in sporting events.
3. Influencing Government policy in the long-term interest of sporting fans.
4. To provide a platform from which BFU members can become Voices of inspiration in addressing issues around sporting events
